I will go ahead and post a New theme for next week a little early because I have to go back to work tomorrow and my son is going back to school in Connecticut. I don't think I'll remember to post in the morning! In this week of fresh starts and promises of resolve I have been thinking about a powerful one-word prompt- BALANCE - How do you manage your life's balancing act? The constant yin and yang, give and take, ebb and flow ? I know it takes thought and effort and hopefully some teamwork is involved! I hope this prompt gets you thinking, writing, drawing, cutting and pasting !!!!!
Very Cool! I have done one before in an Art class with "found objects" I was so pleased with it. I got to class and he spray painted brick red over the whole thing! I was crushed. I forget what the purpose was. I was more crushed that I didn't take a picture of it before that happened! Lesson Learned! Happy New Year and Artful Blessings, KV
What a wonderful self portrait. I didn't do this challenge as I am not sure who I am yet. I will be exploring that very topic over the next few weeks. Actually, the self portrait might be a great way to wrap up the end. Forgetting who I was in the past and realizing who I am in the now. I do have some thoughts on BALANCE. For one thing, I would like some - lol. Hugs.........Gayle
I actually did mine too, can you believe it?!! Wah Hooo! Thanks to you sweet thing, I now have an awesome journal to explore! What a fun medium! I felt so FREE because the journal is just for me! So cool!
Go check out my blog for my first attempt (in about 10 minutes after I load it on!)! Heh Heh!
Fairy Dust Sparkled Hugs, Tam
PS to Gayle: You should NEVER forget who you were in the past, because everything you have been, everything you have done, shapes the person you are now! So embrase the past, learn from your mistakes and move forward to a better you! :)
I have a degree in Child Development and have been teaching for 25 years. Most of these years have been spent with second graders with the exception of 4 years in first grade. I love introducing my students to the joy of reading "chapter books" and the language of literature.
I am a mixed-media artist and am lucky to be teaching at a fine arts magnet school. I use music and visual art every day in my classroom.
I have been married for 29 years and my husband teaches High School English. I have raised 4 wonderful kids and am still working on the yellow labs that live in our house.
