Helga's Quote Challenge ATC

I made an ATC for Helga's blog challenge today. Check out her awesome blog, My Artistic Life !
I had a great surprise mail day,too.
I was expecting my issue of Somerset Studio, but got a copy of Handcrafted instead. I flipped through it wondering why I received it. At the back of the book there is a gallery section and there was an altered book I got published in Somerset.
Cool! Then, I opened a little package from Helga, the owner of ARTchix Studios, and she sent me 5 copies
of my" I Love ARTchix" sticker.
Helga sends these stickers out free with every order. How exciting that my art will be included in this fun tradition!

Artful weekend!

Here is what I've been up to for the past two days! I made the first two pages for a color themed Round Robin. These pages are for Lillian whose colors are white, turquoise, and dusty rose. The next two photos are a tip-in page for my buddy Sandee in CT. She is making a row house book and I made a two-sided house page for her. We had a hot summer weekend and I just holed up in the AC finishing up my projects due by the end of the month. As usual, I work better under pressure! I have a few weeks off and I hope to be able to get a lot of art time in.

Even though my vacations seem to magically fill up with errands, Dr. appointments, trips to the vet, dentist visits, yadayadayada!!!!!! I am determined to get some me- time in this time. I am going to an afternoon pool party with my girlfriends Tuesday and I have a massage scheduled for Wednesday. I get to sleep in tomorrow- YIPEE!!!!!

Over The Moon!

My good friend, Terri, made me the coolest card for my birthday! That's Terri and I sitting on the moon!
It came yesterday just in time for my celebration that my school year is FINALLY over and I get a month off!
I had to clean out my entire classroom and move into another room on top of all the year-end paperwork and activities! Thanks Terri and Keith for the good wishes and beautiful art! I am ready for a little relaxation and art therapy! If you click on the photo to see it larger you'll notice the sheet music in the background is Jenny Jenkins! Impressive Terri...most impressive!

Crowded with Love!

I wanted to post about my birthday and I have this card hanging in my
bathroom/ art gallery. I was tickled last year when THREE people gave me the same birthday card. Isn't that cool? This year, my awesome friends at work sang to me and brought me presents. My husband Dave came home from a workshop in Lake Arrowhead with a bag filled with goodies. We went to see Todd Rundgren in concert and it rocked!
We discovered a wonderful artist, Paul Freeman, who opened for Todd.
I got lots of messages and birthday wishes from my friends ! I feel very blessed to have such a fabulous posse of family and friends who always make me feel loved!

Productive ART weekend!!

I really DO rotate my images, but sometimes when I save them they seem to like being sideways again.  I was having so much trouble uploading ANYTHING I am going to go ahead with this post. Please turn your head to look at the first 2 photos. I finished the first layout in my new Color Dreams journal last weekend and mailed it to NY. The paper doll page says,"Let your muse... and the second paper doll page says..."out to play".  The scan of the second page couldn't be uploaded at all and the book has started it's round robin journey, so you'll have to take my word for it.
This regal looking lady is an ATC I made for my PID SWAP yahoo group. I made 3 of these and I will get a bunch of ATCs back to see how other artists used the same image. All of the Paper Imagery Designs images are named and this one is Rosia.

My big accomplishment this weekend was designing, making and finishing  15  ATCs for my
Paula's Kit Club swap this month. The theme is Storybook and our latest kit has a forest/nature
focus.  I decided to use Winnie-The-Pooh in the 100-acre wood to merge the two themes.  I  used a Pooh quote on each card.  I hope none of the people in my swap mind that I went over the edges a little. I simply cannot help myself- I am just an over the edge kind of girl!

The last project I completed THIS weekend was this chipboard house page for my Mixed-Media Madams tip-in group.  I really like how this one turned out. The words on the roof are some of the  lyrics from the song, Home from The Wiz.  I will try and add it to my playlist so you can hear it and we can make this a multi-sensory experience!

Now I have to go and do my lesson plans for the upcoming week. I did complete a journal page and I will post that next.  I hope you all have a lovely week and squeeze in some ART time!
