Works in progress in portrait class

Week 2 of Suzi Blu's on-line portrait class. I did all of the graphite sketches in week one and
now we are adding color with colored pencil and paint for the hair. The sketchbook I got really shows the smudges from the pencils. I am trying to shade but some of my faces just look dirty!

I do like some of my drawing s and hope I don't mess them up trying to add color! It's hard to
partially color a face like Suzi suggests. Once I start coloring I feel compelled to color it ALL in!
We will be adding poetry and prose to these as well. I have been so hooked on drawing that I haven't started the writing exercises yet. I would love to have some feedback from my artist
peeps.

Goddess and Poet Class begins...

I started my first on-line class this week. It's with Suzi Blu and it's called The Goddess and Poets. We are learning to draw stylistic faces and write poetry to do journal pages and pieces on wood.
I will post some of my first attempts here so you can see how it progresses. I hope I can get better with technique tips and lots of practice. On a purely fun note, I went out with 11 of my girlfriends to see the American Idol Tour concert last night. OMG- what a surprisingly great concert. No lip synching- everyone sang really good songs and they were all better than they were on the show. It was such a strong group to begin with and I think they have great coaching for the tour. Of course, I was most excited about Adam- my guyliner hero! He rocked the house!
Kris was adorable- Matt ( with the hat) was wonderful singing and playing the piano!
Lil Rounds gave a solid performance and sounded awesome. Danny has been working out and LOOKS great- he was singing more country. If you have a chance to see this concert- you should!

Zetti Me!

Here are 2 pages I made for my RR this month. Deana wanted us to represent ourselves Zetti-style. So, I included my partner-in-crime in the first one. On the back page I altered a few pics and doodled a background. I think they turned out pretty cool. Now, I have to make 3 zetti ATCs for Marion's swap.

More weekend projects!

Oh my goodness! I have been trying to crank out some projects now that I am off-track for awhile. I made 14 ATCs for a Mermaid theme swap. I had done an altered book page featuring merbabies for a RR. I printed out my merbabies and designed the ATCs around them. Next, I made an ATC with a card from ARTchix card and a quote I like. Finally, I finished a present I owe my friend, Tammy. Her daughter was in my class this year and she took wonderful photos of our events. Her photos of my annual Gingerbread Holiday Show turned out so well that I made a scrapbook for her for a year-end gift. I worked on this album for 2 days and I can't wait to give it to her. The album is 8" wide and 5 1/2 " tall and has 20 pages. I'm glad I can check a few items off my art list.
